OGLE-II High Proper Motion Stars towards the Galactic centre

چکیده
The photometry data base of the second phase of the OGLE microlensing experiment, OGLE-II, is a rich source of information about the kinematics and structure of the Galaxy. In this work we use the OGLE-II proper motion catalogue to identify candidate stars which have high proper motions. 521 stars with proper motion μ > 50 mas yr in the OGLE-II proper motion catalogue (Sumi et al. 2004) were cross-identified with stars in the MACHO high proper motion catalogue, and the DENIS and 2MASS infra-red photometry catalogues. Photometric distances were computed for stars with colours consistent with G/K and M type stars. 6 stars were newly identified as possible nearby (< 50 pc) M dwarfs.

The Optical Gravitational Lensing Experiment Catalog of stellar proper motions in the OGLE-II Galactic bulge fields
We present proper motion (μ) catalog of 5,078,188 stars in 49 Optical Gravitational Lensing Experiment II (OGLE-II) Galactic bulge fields, with the total area close to 11 square degrees. The proper motion measurements are based on 138 − 555 I-band images taken during four observing seasons: 1997-2000. The catalogue stars are in the magnitude range 11 < I < 18 mag. In particular, the catalogue i...
متن کاملMeasurements of streaming motions of the Galactic Bar with Red Clump Giants
We report a measurement of the streaming motion of the stars in the Galactic bar with the Red Clump Giants (RCGs) using the data of the Optical Gravitational Lensing Experiment II (OGLE-II). We measure the proper motion of 46,961 stars and divide RCGs into bright and faint sub-samples which on average will be closer to the near and far side of the bar, respectively. We find that the far-side RC...
متن کاملPhotometric Detection of High Proper Motions in Dense Stellar Fields Using Difference Image Analysis
The Difference Image Analysis (DIA) of the images obtained by the Optical Gravitational Lensing Experiment (OGLE-II) revealed a peculiar artifact in the sample of stars proposed as variable by Woźniak (2000) in one of the Galactic bulge fields: the occurrence of pairs of candidate variables showing anticorrelated light curves monotonic over a period of 3 years. This effect can be understood, qu...
متن کاملProper Motion Dispersions of Red Clump Giants in the Galactic Bulge: Observations and Model Comparisons
Red clump giants in the Galactic bulge are approximate standard candles and hence they can be used as distance indicators. We compute the proper motion dispersions of RCG stars in the Galactic bulge using the proper motion catalogue from the second phase of the Optical Gravitational Microlensing Experiment (OGLE-II, Sumi et al. 2004) for 45 fields. The proper motion dispersions are measured to ...
متن کاملCandidate Gravitational Microlensing Events for Future Direct Lens Imaging
The mass of the lenses giving rise to Galactic microlensing events can be constrained by measuring the relative lens-source proper motion and lens flux. The flux of the lens can be separated from that of the source, companions to the source, and unrelated nearby stars with high-resolution images taken when the lens and source are spatially resolved. For typical ground-based adaptive optics (AO)...
